I'm in the mood for complaining about art school.

Art school is lame.

In progress stuff.

Creativity only happens during finals.

I've decided recently that my goal will be to try for an internship at Big Huge Games this summer, so I need to focus on developing a portfolio of work that's probably out of my league... but whatever, it's worth a shot. Unfortunately this kind of motivation only comes to me when I have other work to do. Also, I seem to like playing more video games. On that note... World of Goo is a fantastic game. Dreamkiller is definitely not.

None of my finals have been particularly exciting, although I did make a Magic-based card game for my photography class (because I'm a bad photographer and I needed to find a way to put my photography in a non-serious context.)

I also need to think of something creative to contribute to the war... I probably won't have time. I wish I was funny.

I wish I could sleep. I'm ahead of the game on my finals, just one more project to go.

What am I doing?

This is just a sketch of my Warhammer Chaos lord, because I needed inspiration.

I need to draw more.

I decided that I need to make myself sketch more often, because creativity and motivation are abundant during finals, for some reason. It also makes me want to play more video games, but go for a hike at the same time. It's tragic how it all works really.

His legs are supposed to be tree trunks that take root between steps because he moves so slowly. Or something to that affect.

Also, I made a thingy. Not sure what it is. I put a black and white version of it on a business card for myself that I had to make for a class. A very lame class.

Look! I can use Illustrator!

Off to play World of Goo. There is always more time to be wasted.

Blargesfargle.

I've probably spent about 90% of the past 4 days working on that damn storybook project. Note: If any of you ever become a teacher, remember that storybook projects take more than two weeks. Much more than two weeks.

On that note, you can look at it here. Most of it at least.

I've also been playing with that minotaur sketch a little bit. In the back of my mind I have this crazy idea of eventually sending a portfolio to Wizards of the Coast for Magic and D&D illustration...

More interesting things to come when I don't have so much work to do.

NRG.

I've been working like crazy on an assignment for my ecology ethics class. We have to make a childrens book teaching about ethical principles of deep ecology. I'm trying to get it done within a matter of days so I can send it out for print. It will be the end of me.

Here's a cover. I spent forever just making versions of it, none of which I was satisfied with.

I made a whale and named him Nanook, because it's cute. Too bad I'm a failure as a designer and didn't make the illustration typography-friendly.

BLAAARG my back hurts.

New interweb of awesome.

I spent pretty much all of last night putting together a new website, because I was reading about an internship and I was intimidated by their portfolio and resume requirements, so I decided to try to make myself look professional with a fine display of procrastination.

I have a lot of finals to work on, one of which is a picture book, so I'll be posting as that progresses.
